Cut For a Cure

Worldwide, more than 160,000 children are diagnosed with pediatric cancer each year. From March 1st to May 10th, men and women from the Tampa Bay area and communities nationwide took a bold step forward to help curb this staggering statistic. They shaved their heads for the 4th Annual Bright House Networks Cut for a Cure Charity Challenge presented by Carrabba’s Italian Grill.

Shavees had the option to participate as an individual or a team (corporate, athletic, friends, family, etc.). Additionally, for the first time in the history of the event, participants could shave for the Pediatric Cancer Foundation or for the Pediatric Cancer Foundation and a charity of choice, in which case, the individual shavee or team net proceeds were split 50/50. By extending this event to other charities, we hoped to expand awareness and increase our impact on communities locally and nationally.

We invite you to join us in the fight by making a donation at pcfcutforacure.org. If you are interested in becoming a 2014 shavee, please call the Pediatric Cancer Foundation at 813-269-0955 or email Holly Stoeckle, Special Events Manager, at hstoeckle@fastercure.org.

Thanks to the outstanding commitment and generous support of the shavees and their contributors, the 2013 campaign raised a record-breaking $415,000.
